It might seem obvious but take the time to fall in love with someone’s work. When you find a photographer that appeals to you then you’ll want to see yourself in their images and style. Look through their portfolio and fall in love with it because that is the style you are investing in.
2. Do you like the photographer?
This is an intimate collaboration so spend some time getting to know the photographer. Read their about page, talk to them and ask some questions.
For example, I’m a pretty laid back, stress-free type of person. I work hard for my clients and my sessions tend to be low-key. My clients tend to work with me because of my calm demeanor and personality.
3. Where will you display these photos?
Do you want these pictures on your wall? In an album? Matted prints? Where will you display the finished product? Take a moment to look through the products that your potential photographer offers and think about how you want to display your new art.
