THE PLANNING

When you hire me as your maternity photographer in Chicago, we will create a vision for your perfect photoshoot that will best highlight your baby bump. We will discuss everything from styling to wardrobe to background so that you know exactly what to expect.

THE PHOTOSHOOT

At my maternity photo studio, your maternity shoot will take place. You may be a little nervous, and no worries — that’s normal! Once we start shooting, I’ll walk you through exactly what to do. All you have to do is listen, relax and enjoy.

THE VIEWING

Two weeks after your session, you’ll see your stunning maternity pictures! Together we will go over the options to display your new works of art. You’re going to love taking these “babies” home … just in time to do the same with your own baby!

MATERNITY SESSION

A maternity/boudoir photography session with Stephanie Toland Photography is an empowering experience that lets you celebrate motherhood. At the studio, your maternity photography session will be styled like a fashion shoot — and you’re the star! The lighting, sets and backgrounds are kept elegant and simple to keep the focus on you and your baby. Your maternity photoshoot is never rushed. I will take the time to direct you to make sure that you feel comfortable, confident and beautiful. I recommend scheduling your session around 33 weeks - well before your due date when your baby bump is perfect for photos.

MY STYLE

My mission is simple: create a collection of wall-worthy images that you will love. From the day we start planning to the moment you take your photos home, my goal is to create stunning works of art that capture your beauty, tell your story and celebrate you at this special moment in your life. My style is fresh, bold and eye-catching — while emphasizing your natural beauty. I gravitate toward neutral colors, jaw-dropping black and white images, and clean lines. I want you to be able to look back at these photos for a lifetime, so my aim is to keep it simple. This moment is already timeless!

PLANNING

Your maternity photoshoot at my studio will be tailored specifically to you. Together we will discuss ideas on posing, lighting, wardrobe and style to make sure that your vision becomes a reality. As soon as you are booked, you’ll receive a detailed prep guide filled with tips on how to get ready for your photoshoot. WARDROBE

In addition to a selection of silk fabrics to choose from, you will receive a detailed prep guide with information on choosing the perfect outfits for your maternity session. Some of my favorite options include form-fitting dresses, lace robes and meaningful personal items/accessories.  

RETOUCHING

I include professional photo retouching in your maternity session. I am passionate about creating beautiful images that celebrate your individuality. While I do edit out blemishes and minor imperfections, I want to keep you looking like you. I use posing to get flattering body positions and to enhance your favorite features. You probably won't even be able to tell what I've done — you’ll just be amazed at how beautiful you are!

DISPLAYING YOUR ART
